TWU Graduate Program Showcase set for March 3, 2018

Texas Woman’s University will highlight its graduate program offerings during the Graduate Program Showcase from 8:30 a.m. until noon Saturday, March 3 on the university’s Denton campus.

TWU to co-host conference for improving Hispanic success in STEM fields

Texas Woman’s University is among a coalition of eight higher education institutions hosting “Consejos Colectivos: Improving STEM Success at HSIs” Feb. 27-28 at El Centro College in Dallas. The conference is designed for faculty, staff, students, administrators, employers and community members who wish to increase their understanding of opportunities and barriers for Hispanic student recruitment, retention and advancement in STEM fields.

Sweet rides compete in 20th Annual Edible Car Race

From “Wreck It Ralph,” to “The Magic School Bus” and even “Stranger Things,” judges saw it all at Texas Woman’s University’s 20th annual Edible Car Contest.  On Jan. 26, more than 200 students from Denton and Tarrant counties competed for recognition for the fastest and most unique car made entirely of food.

Theatre Program presents ‘The Long Christmas Ride Home’

The Texas Woman’s University Theatre Program kicks off its spring semester with The Long Christmas Ride Home, written by Pulitzer Prize-winner Paula Vogel and directed by Noah Lelek, Ph.D., assistant professor of theatre at TWU. Set during an emotionally tumultuous journey, this production daringly mixes the Western theatrical tradition with Japanese bunraku-style puppetry. The production runs Feb. 21-25.

TWU to host Pioneer Preview Day Feb. 24, 2018

Texas Woman’s University will host Pioneer Preview Day — an open house event for potential first-year students — beginning at 8 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 24 on the university’s Denton campus.
