Rangers and Astros to host TWU college nights

Join Texas Woman’s University for nights at the ballpark in both Arlington and Houston. TWU Night with the Astros will take place Tuesday, April 3 at 7:10 p.m. at Minute Maid Park in Houston. TWU Night with the Rangers is scheduled for Tuesday, April 24 at 7:05 p.m. at Globe Life Park in Arlington. All students, faculty, staff, alumni and the general public are welcome to purchase tickets for these events.

TWU grant team hosts sexual assault prevention conference

Texas Woman’s University, leader of Texas’s Cultivating Safe College Campuses (CSCC) grant team, is conducting its inaugural “Interdisciplinary Approaches to Campus Assault Prevention and Response” conference March 1-2 at the Southern Methodist University’s Dallas campus. This conference is funded by a CSCC grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office on Women’s Health. As part of this grant, Texas Woman’s University leads a consortium of nine Texas colleges and universities and five organizations to create a consistent, effective response to sexual assault on college campuses across the state.

Alumnus Walter Rivas can stand the heat

The kitchen at Medical City Frisco is constantly in motion – employees are prepping food, cooking, plating, dishwashing, and as in most hospitals, taking care of the special dietary needs of patients. In the middle of it all is Executive Chef Walter Rivas (BAS Culinary Arts and Food Service Management ‘16), who fortunately loves the hectic pace his workplace offers.

Barbara Lerner, Ph.D., vice provost for undergraduate studies and academic partnerships at Texas Woman’s University, has been named a Catalyst Award Winner by the National Institute for the Study of Transfer Students.
