TWU graduate turns traditional nutrition coaching upside down

Joan Denton (M.S. ‘18) knew she wanted to be a registered dietitian, but never felt at ease in a hospital. When she expressed her interests to one of her Texas Woman’s University nutrition professors, Denton discovered she could be categorized as a “culinary dietitian.” This set Denton on to create her own path in the field of nutrition.

Terry Scholars program at TWU continues to grow

Texas Woman's University will welcome 14 new students to the Terry Scholars program this fall. The scholarship program, sponsored by the Terry Foundation, provides funding for outstanding students to attend one of 13 public universities in Texas, including TWU.

TWU to honor alumni, student excellence at Accolades Luncheon April 20

Texas Woman's University and the TWU Alumni Association will honor outstanding alumni and graduating students during the TWU Accolades Luncheon Friday, April 20. The event will recognize Distinguished Alumni Award, Hallmark Alumni Award and Outstanding TWU Student Award recipients.

Endowment established in memory of TWU student

Jaqueline Rae Vandagriff's life was cut short 19 months ago, but her memory will live on through an endowment established by her friends and family at Texas Woman's University. The 24-year old junior, who was a lifelong vegetarian and animal lover, was studying nutrition at TWU. The fund will commemorate her life by supporting an internship in the area of health and wellbeing, with a preference for students majoring in Nutrition and Food Sciences.

No. 11 for Pioneers sets USA Gymnastics and program record

Back-to-back is back. Texas Woman's University secured the program's 11th USA Gymnastics Collegiate National Title while defending the 2017 trophy.  The team registered the highest score ever seen at the championship and shattered the program record with an astonishing 196.525 team score April 14 inside Kitty Magee Arena on TWU's Denton campus.
