TWU kinesiology student conducts unique, award winning research

As a Texas Woman’s honors student, Ayana Georges (B.S. ‘18) knew she wanted to make a difference in the world of kinesiology. This prompted her to begin her award-winning research, which received top honors at the 2018 Great Plains Honors Council (GPHC) Conference held in March.

TWU sets final day for golf course

After operating for almost 80 years, Texas Woman’s University announced that it will permanently close its golf course. The course, which shut down earlier this year in support of campus construction projects, will reopen nine holes for a one-day, free-play event on Friday, May 4.

TWU professor honored with knighthood

Ronald S. Palomares-Fernandez, Ph.D., a Texas Woman’s University assistant professor of psychology, has been knighted by the Johanniter Order, a 900-year-old spiritual service organization dedicated to assisting the sick, the poor and the infirmed. Palomares-Fernandez received the honor for his humanitarian work in his church and around the world.

Texas Woman’s education abroad director selected for leadership academy

Annie Phillips, Ph.D., director of Texas Woman’s University’s Education Abroad department, has been selected to participate in the Leadership Academy for New Senior International Officers. Phillips is one of only 17 international education leaders in the United States who will attend the academy this year, which will be held in May at Duke University.
