Interlibrary Loan
Interlibrary Loan (ILL) is a service offered by TWU Libraries to help TWU faculty, students, and staff access research materials unavailable from TWU Libraries. Before submitting a request, check TWUniversal to be sure we do not already own a physical or digital version of the resource.
Books, chapters, articles and other materials may be requested through ILLiad (Interlibrary Loan internet accessible database). Textbooks, reference, non-circulating, media materials, and Houston reserve items may not be requested through ILL. Materials are obtained at no cost whenever possible. In the rare case when a fee is required to borrow a resource, users will be notified via email before charges are incurred.
The ILLiad system allows users to track their requests, check due dates, receive electronic documents, and receive email notifications. All ILL requests are non-renewable, as the due date is set by the library that provides the resource.
Your ILL Account
Login to your ILLiad/ILL account with your Pioneer Portal credentials to request materials, access electronic delivered resources, and manage your settings.
Login or Create an ILL Account
If this is your first time using ILLiad, you will be directed to a one-time, online registration form. Use your TWU ID number (located in your Pioneer Portal account) as your “ID Number.”
Please review and update your ILLiad account every semester. It is your responsibility to provide your current name, email address, and mailing address. Your account is not automatically updated.
Notes for Resident and Commuter Students
Make sure to set your Delivery Location to your campus. ILL materials will be delivered to your campus library to check out at the Information Desk.
Notes for Distance Students
Make sure your Preferred Loan Delivery Method is set to “Mail to Address” and your Delivery Location is set to “Mail to Home Address.” Even if all of your classes are online, you might not be considered a distance learner; if you’re unsure of your status, please contact us.
Notes for Faculty and Staff
If you would like to have books delivered to your campus office, select “Mail to Address” as your Preferred Loan Delivery Method and select your Department from the drop down options and/or type in your Department in the Primary Address Line.

Hours of Operation
You are welcome to submit requests anytime. Our staff actively process requests Monday-Friday from 8:00 AM-5:00 PM, except when TWU is closed. No processing is completed on Saturday and Sunday.
