Hold Requests

A patron can place a Hold request on an item that is either currently checked out OR is not found on the shelf.

  • Materials may be recalled by library staff to be placed on course reserve behind the Information Desk.
  • If you cannot wait for an item to be returned you may request the item through TWUniversal (must be signed in).

For items that are currently checked out, submit a "Hold" request for the item in TWUniversal (must be signed in). Once a hold has been placed, renewals will be made unavailable to the patron who currently has the item. When the item is returned, a notification will be sent that it is ready to be picked up and will be on hold for 10 days.

If an item is not found on the shelf, complete a "Search" form at the Circulation Desk. Library staff will search for the item. If library staff finds the item in the library, they will place the hold and you will be notified that it is ready to be picked up and will be on hold for 10 days. If the item is determined missing, you will be notified that you may request the item through Interlibrary Loan.
