Children’s Historical Collection

The Children's Historical Collection is a non-circulating literary collection of more than 10,000 volumes with strengths including Newberry and Caldecott winners, works by Texas authors, and rare and finely bound classic children's works.

The collection is grounded in 19th and 20th century works including early editions of Heidi, Winnie the Pooh, and Peter Rabbit. The historical collection represents the changing interpretations of classic fairy tales and works that illustrate diversity in children's literature.

The collection also features archival, manuscript, and artifact collections of artwork, correspondence, illustrations, drafts, and other materials.
