Bachelor of Science in Public Health (BSPH)

The Bachelor of Science in Public Health (BSPH) degree provides initial training for students interested in the broad and diverse field of public health. The BSPH has a general public health focus that exposes students to areas such as health promotion, epidemiology, environmental health and health informatics. Students pursuing this degree will be prepared to pursue entry-level employment in the public and private sectors or more specialized training in the Master of Public Health (MPH) and similar programs.

Program Requirements

This program requires 120 hours. Upper-level courses focus on health issues among diverse groups and core courses address the Eight Areas of Responsibility for Health Education Specialists.

As a student in this program, you will complete an internship of 350 hours during the last semester of your senior year. Qualifying organizations include non-profit health agencies, health departments, wellness programs, and local, state, and national health agencies. A minimum GPA of 2.75 is required to be placed in an internship and to graduate.

When you apply to TWU, we will evaluate your academic achievement and preparation, as well as your standardized test scores. Admission to TWU is valid for four terms, unless you have attended another higher education institution.
