Go Center

A Go Center is a resource center for high school and college students seeking information and guidance on higher education. It is located in high schools and on the TWU Denton campus at the Center for First-Generation Students. The Go Center aims to assist students in pursuing higher education by providing information and resources on the college selection process, application process, and financial aid options.

The Go Center provides various services to prospective, incoming, and current TWU students and high school students. G-Force mentors help students find and use appropriate resources, such as the College for All Texans website. It also offers support in filling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), the Texas Application for State Financial Aid (TASFA), the ApplyTexas application, and other college applications.

Additionally, G-Force and Go Center staff play a crucial role in special outreach events such as College Nights or FAFSA Saturdays. They provide academic tutoring or mentoring to college students. The center's focus on student interventions, such as peer advising or supplemental instruction, has proven highly effective.

Furthermore, the center collaborates with community partnerships to establish a student and parent outreach center. The Go Center provides tools and information to help families decide about college. Program staff encourages and helps students with their interactions with ADVi to guide them through the college process. Overall, the Go Center emphasizes creating a college-going culture and promotes college awareness and accessibility to all students.
