To excel in the classroom at Texas Woman’s University, you’ll need to stay fit in your mind, spirit and body.
Join a Pilates class to improve your flexibility and body awareness. Scale our 30-foot climbing wall to test your own strength. Compete against classmates in an intramural soccer match. Take a turn around our 18-hole golf course.
Keeping an active body fuels an active mind. So stay in shape, live a healthy lifestyle, and gain an appreciation for the overall wellness we can create together.
Practice breathing in your favorite Yoga pose, push yourself in a cycle class, or dance to the beat of Zumba®. Exercise classes are available to all TWU students. Most classes are free, with select classes available at student rates.
The Intramural Sports program is structured to provide students, faculty and staff an opportunity to participate in a variety of competitive and recreational sport leagues, tournaments and special events.
Play an organized game of basketball, volleyball, indoor soccer or dodgeball. Every open recreation is officiated by intramural officials and is free to participate.
Outdoor Adventure Program
The Outdoor Adventure Program provides students, faculty, and staff with the opportunity to participate in outdoor adventure trips, the outdoor rental center, and the rock climbing wall.
Get one-on-one advice and a new source of encouragement for your personal fitness plan. Personal training is available to all TWU students at student rates.
The Pioneer Pride Dance Team debuts in 2017, performing at various school functions, athletic events, and community events.
The Denton Campus is home to our Fitness and Recreation Center that includes a 30-foot climbing wall, basketball courts, and more; an 18-hole golf course; eight tennis courts; outdoor basketball and sand volleyball courts; and, an indoor pool.
Fitness and Recreation Center Hours of Operation
Hours of operation vary between Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters.
- Monday-Friday: 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.
- Saturday: 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Sunday: 2 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Make use of fitness facilities at our Houston Center, open six days a week. The center features cardio and weight machines, along with locker rooms for men and women. It is located on the second floor.
Hours of Operation
- Monday-Sunday: 5 a.m. to midnight.
Women’s and men’s locker rooms, cardio equipment, free weights and various exercise equipment are free to use for all students at the TWU T. Boone Pickens Institute of Health Sciences-Dallas Center. The fitness center is located on the third floor.
