Making Texas #1 for Women-Owned Businesses in the Nation

The State of Texas established TWU's Center for Women in Business in 2015 to fulfill the goal of making the Lone Star State #1 in the United States for women-owned businesses. TWU is Texas' only university with a focus on female entrepreneurs.

The Center for Women in Business provides the tools for start-ups to succeed, including training, funding, coaching and networking opportunities for prospective business owners and students. 

With a focus on the North Texas area and TWU's three campuses in Denton, Houston and Dallas, the Center for Women in Business is committed to helping women reach their goals to be entrepreneurs and successful business owners.

Now hiring Graduate Assistant position

Are you a graduate student at Texas Woman's University wanting to work full-time (20 hours per week)?  The Center for Women in Business is seeking applications for the 2017/18 academic year.  The ideal candidate is self motivated and an independent performer with the ability to assist the CWB team in the following areas: research projects, social media, representing the department and the university at events and presentations, preparation of materials for correspondence and reports.

New director appointed

Shannon Mantaro has been named the new director of TWU’s Center for Women in Business, effective Sept. 1. She joins TWU from the Hamilton Initiative, LLC, at Colgate University in New York, where she was responsible for advancing the university’s economic development program. More info>

Did you know...

The Center for Women in Business funded a partnership between TWU and the Dallas Women’s Foundation to compile new research about barriers affecting women’s ability to positively advance in the Texas economy.

Seed Money Available for Faculty Research

TWU's Center for Women in Business provides seed money for TWU faculty to conduct rigorous research about women innovators and business owners.
