Alumna makes $10 million gift to name new TWU Athletics Complex

Incoming student awarded $15,000 inaugural Merrilee Alexander Kick Scholarship

The scholarship supports alumni of Momentous Institute’s nationally acclaimed elementary laboratory school for children in pre-kindergarten through fifth grade. Yesenia Avila, the inagural awardee, will enroll Fall 2026 at Texas Woman’s and major in nursing.

JF Maddox Foundation creates $1 million endowment for scholarships

The foundation, founded by alumna Mabel Scofield Maddox, supports organizations involved with education, social programs and community development. Scholarships will be awarded from the endowment beginning in 2027.
