Welcome to Health Promotion

What is wellness? “Wellness is a multidimensional state of being describing the existence of positive health in an individual as exemplified by quality of life and a sense of well-being." -Arizona State University's Charles B. Corbin.

Who can help you achieve wellness?

SHS Health Promotion is here to serve you. From wellness presentations to health awareness events, there is something for everyone! Contact us to schedule a health program for your residence hall, classroom, or student organization. Popular health topics include: sexual health, party safety, nutrition, and stress management.

Not on the Denton campus? Not a problem! Like our Facebook page or follow us on Twitter for health information and wellness tips throughout the semester and take the Total Health Challenge Online. Check our health and wellness magazine, Student Health 101, for nutrition, fitness tips and articles specific to our students.

Have any health related questions, but don't know who to ask? "Ask George" is Health Promotions' newest blog spot to send in anonymous questions to our staff. Click on George's picture and ask away!

We could not do all these events without help from our outstanding peer health educators! PATH (Peer Advocates Teaching Health) is a Student Health Services sanctioned student organization with students passionate about health and wellness. Contact Health Promotion for more information on how you can become involved.

"Wellness must be a prerequisite to all else. Students cannot be intellectually proficient if they are physically and psychologically unwell."
-Ernest Boyer
