As a student in the TWU English, Rhetoric and Spanish Program, you will have many opportunities to interact with others who share your interests, including faculty. In addition to providing excellent networking opportunities, our student organizations will prepare you for academic success and future leadership roles.

Omega Rho Alpha

Omega Rho Alpha is an English honor society open to freshman and sophomore students majoring in English. Students may join if they meet any ONE of the following requirements:

  • Receive an "A" in a freshman or sophomore English course other than English 1003 or writing lab.
  • Are an English major.
  • Have had literary compositions published in college literary periodicals or presented at programs honoring student writers.
  • Qualify for Honors English.

Sigma Tau Delta

The central purpose of Sigma Tau Delta is to confer distinction upon outstanding students of English language and literature in undergraduate, graduate and professional studies. Sigma Tau Delta also recognizes the accomplishments of professional writers who have contributed to the fields of language and literature. The TWU chapter of the International English Honor Society is the Beta Epsilon Chapter. Eligibility: Must be an English major or minor, a junior, senior, or graduate student, and have a GPA of 3.0 or above.

ERGO-RSA

The English and Rhetoric Graduate Student Organization Rhetoric Society of America (ERGO-RSA), provides members with educational and professional support, and fosters camaraderie among graduate students. The organization holds regular meetings to discuss issues affecting graduate students in the program and organizes social events for members to connect.
