TWU CAPS 2023-2024 Practicum Cohort

Rania Elamin (she/her/hers) is a Practicum Therapist at TWU CAPS. Rania received her B.S. in Psychology from the University of Massachusetts Boston. She is currently enrolled at The Chicago School’s Clinical Psychology doctoral program in Dallas. She is an advocate for destigmatizing mental health by acknowledging cultural, societal, interpersonal, and spiritual influences. Rania’s clinical and professional interests include person-centered approaches to personality and mood dynamics, emotion regulation, and self-compassion, as well as addressing diversity issues, trauma, and fostering resilience in individuals.

Nina Guerra (she/her/hers) is a practicum therapist at TWU CAPS. Nina received her B.A. and M.A. in psychology at Arizona State University. She is a second-year clinical psychology doctoral student at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology- Dallas. She serves as the Founder and Executive Director of a non-profit ranch centered around utilizing horsemanship and "ranch life therapy" to assist military veterans and first responders with their mental wellness. Her professional and academic interests include mindfulness-based stress reduction and improving cognitive functioning post-brain injury. She is a Marine Corps veteran and advocate for veteran mental health concerns. 

Darian Poe (she/her/hers) is a Practicum Therapist at TWU CAPS. Darian received her B.A. in Psychology from The University of Texas at Dallas and her M.A. from Texas Woman's University. She is currently a second-year doctoral student in the Counseling Psychology program at TWU. Darian's clinical and professional interests include complex trauma concerns, LGBTQIA+ issues, identity development, and relationship/interpersonal concerns.
