Are you interested in adding a Multicultural Womens and Gender Studies minor to your degree? Undergraduate TWU students who want to deepen their understanding of social justice, the lives of women and how women are changing the world have the option to add our minor to their current degree plan.

Minor Requirements

Undergraduate students are required to take a total of 18 semester hours in courses that explore women, gender, class, race, ethnicity, religion and sexuality to receive their minor in Multicultural Womens and Gender Studies.

Required Courses

  • WS 2013: Gender and Social Change: An Introduction to Multicultural Women’s Studies
  • WS 3023: U.S. Women of Colors
  • WS 4493: Feminist Theory

An additional three courses are required for our minor that can be viewed on our Course Rotation Schedule (pdf). Our students may also choose from a variety of discipline-based courses including English, government, history, health studies, nursing, dance, education, biology, psychology, sociology, business and economics.
