Dr. Woodcock's contributions
Dr. Richard W. Woodcock’s lifelong contribution through his tests of cognitive abilities, academic achievement, language development, and adaptive behavior, to name a few, have touched the lives of millions of children and their families over the past five decades. Most assessment specialists can date themselves when they were trained to practice based on which version of the Woodcock-Johnson tests they were taught in graduate school. Many of Dr. Daniel C. Miller's contemporary colleagues are seasoned enough to have worked with all of the various revisions of the Dr. Woodcock’s tests. We have been blessed to see the increased Cattell-Horn-Carroll (CHC) theoretical focus of the tests and continual improvement of the quality of the tests.
Dr. Woodcock’s generous donation to TWU established the Richard W. Woodcock Endowment Fund. Annual interest earned from this endowment is used to fund the Woodcock Institute. Tax-deductible donations can be made to the Woodcock Institute Fund by writing a check to the TWU Foundation – Woodcock Institute Fund and mailing it to:
