TWU names Margaret Young new director of the School of Management
DENTON/DALLAS/HOUSTON — Margaret Young, Ph.D., is the new director of the Texas Woman’s University School of Management. She also is serving as a professor of marketing for the university.Previously, Young served as dean of the School of Business, Media and Technology at New Mexico Highlands University in Las Vegas. She also served as a professor of marketing at New Mexico Highlands University for more than 20 years, and was heavily involved in program development, creating an online MBA program and starting new programs in software development and oil and gas management.
“Margaret has a proven track record of success in overseeing a business school and brings with her the dynamic leadership and relationship skills necessary to take TWU to the next level in educating our business students,” said Ann Staton, Ph.D., dean of the TWU College of Arts and Sciences. “We are thrilled to have her join our team and know she will be an excellent addition to TWU.”
Young began her duties at TWU June 15.
“I am so happy to join TWU, and I plan to work strategically with faculty and staff to increase the School of Management’s visibility and enhance its focus,” Young said.
Young received a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Texas at El Paso, and both her master’s in economics and Ph.D. in marketing from New Mexico State University.
The TWU School of Management offers both undergraduate and graduate programs to students in Denton, Dallas and Houston and is nationally accredited by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs.
Founded in 1901, Texas Woman’s University is a public university with an enrollment of approximately 15,000 students on campuses in Denton, Dallas and Houston. TWU offers more than 140 undergraduate, master’s and doctoral degree programs in the liberal arts, nursing, health sciences, business, the sciences and education.
