TWU Speech-Language and Hearing Clinic offers fall programs


DENTON — The Texas Woman’s University Speech-Language and Hearing Clinic offers several programs for the community this fall.

Dates, times and costs for the programs vary. Payment plans and sliding scale fees are available. All programs will be held at the TWU Speech and Hearing Clinic in room 601 of the Multipurpose Classroom and Laboratory (MCL) Building, located on the corner of Bell Avenue and College Street on TWU’s Denton campus. All sessions are led by master’s level graduate students under the direct supervision of a licensed speech-language pathologist. Space is limited for the programs and individual therapy sessions and is filled on a first-come, first-served basis.

Audiological Services

Hearing testing and therapy services, which include:
• Adult and pediatric hearing assessments
• Screening for auditory processing disorders
• Auditory-verbal therapy for children with hearing loss
• Aural rehabilitation for users of cochlear implants and hearing aids

Literacy and Language Learning Clinic for Hard of Hearing Students

Tutoring sessions in the areas of language and literacy learning will be offered Monday, Wednesday and Friday during the fall for school-aged children who are deaf or hard of hearing. Fees are assessed on a sliding fee schedule to make the services affordable for every family. Scholarships are available.

Instructors are pre-service teachers of the deaf who are able to communicate using sign language. Individualized instruction will be determined based on the results of the assessments. For more information, call (940) 898-2028 or email

Speech-Language Clinic Services

The clinic will offer individual therapy for children and adults in the areas of speech disorders, voice, fluency and language on Mondays and Wednesdays, and Tuesdays and Thursdays. For more information or to schedule an appointment, call (940) 898-2285.
