Heather Snow to serve as new AVP/Dean of Students

Feb. 16, 2024— DENTON — Texas Woman’s University has named Heather Snow, a longtime student affairs leader, as the university’s new assistant vice president for Student Life and dean of students. She begins her role March 6.

Snow joins TWU from the University of Texas at Arlington where she has served in various student affairs positions for the past 15 years, including her most recent assignment as associate vice president and dean of students. She has led a variety of initiatives including the implementation of a center for students in recovery and mediation services for students. Prior to her time at UTA, she worked at Ballarmine University in Kentucky.

The consummate professional, Snow has been actively involved with the Texas Deans of Students Council, Texas Higher Education Law Conference and the Texas Association of College and University Student Personnel Administrators (TACUSPA), where she recently served as president of the board of directors. She currently serves as a TACUSPA Foundation board member.

“As a first-generation student and experienced senior leader in student affairs, Heather brings a wealth of experience and perspective to TWU,” said Monica Mendez-Grant, Ed.D., vice president for student life. “She has a proven track record of working collaboratively across campus, serving diverse students and providing leadership through difficult situations.”

In her role at TWU, Snow will oversee Civility and Community Standards, Center for Belonging and First-Generation Students, Career Connections, Center for Student Development, Scholar Programs and Student Legal Services. The position carries responsibilities for student crisis management, risk mitigation, and strategic planning efforts that support services and programs related to student retention and persistence. Additionally, the position serves as a Deputy Title IX Coordinator and leads the Behavioral Assessment Team.
