Racine’s neo-classic, tragic masterpiece Phaedra is one of the most beloved pieces of French literature. In the play, one woman’s self-destructive passion consumes her entire being and dooms those she loves most. Racine poetically explores the high price of passion and the cost to be exacted when reason surrenders to our most uncontrollable urges.

The cast of Phaedra features undergraduate theatre students Lauren Jordan, Rachel Theisen, Isabell Moon, Merridonna Dacres-Perez, Tempie Love, Tyler Shults, Felix Ferris, Nathaniel Hill and Lauren Reed. The cast also features graduate theatre student Blair Mitchell.

Associate professor Rhonda Gorman serves as both set and costume designer, and undergraduate student Logan Coley Broker provides the wig and makeup design. Light design will be provided by Jon Felt, and Russell McKinley is the technical director. Alicia Dailey is the properties designer and James Lupplace is the sound designer. LeeAnn Ducker, Emma Smith and Long Ho serve as stage manager and assistant stage managers, respectively.
