TWU names new information technology chief

June 27, 2018 – DENTON – Texas Woman’s University officials today announced they have selected an innovative information technology leader as the university’s new associate vice president for technology and chief information officer. Raechelle Clemmons, who has held senior IT positions at higher education institutions in three states, began her technology career at Silicon Valley startups Netline and Digital Impact. She will join TWU August 27.

“Raechelle has a demonstrated record of high achievement and vast experience in the information technology industry,” said Chancellor Carine M. Feyten. “I am impressed with her knowledge of technology trends and solutions, as well as her vision and innovative approaches in using technology to support our faculty, students and staff and in achieving our strategic priorities.”

Clemmons said she is excited to join TWU during this phase in its history, which she describes as “transformative.”

“I’ve focused my entire higher education career on working strategically and collaboratively to advance innovation, transformation and change through technology,” she said.  “I look forward to helping TWU shape a vision for how technology might be strategically applied to advance the university’s growing campus communities in Denton, Dallas and Houston. I’m excited to be joining the TWU community and am deeply committed to the university’s primary purpose—to ‘educate a woman and empower the world.’”

Clemmons most recently served as chief information officer at Davidson College in North Carolina, and held prior IT leadership posts at St. Norbert College in Wisconsin and Menlo College in California. She also served in various IT capacities at California State University, East Bay.

Clemmons succeeds Dennis Hoebee, who has been serving as interim vice provost for technology and chief information officer.
