TWU alumna Paola Mariscal gets some work done on a Denton-themed chalkboard design

Trained in graphic design at Texas Woman's University, May 2015 graduate Paola Mariscal says she loves working with her hands more than with computer programs.

That led her to a new passion: chalkboard art. Mariscal is now a freestyle hand-lettering artist whose work is featured at Macaroni Grill restaurants, among other clients.

She spent part of the 2016 South by Southwest Interactive Trade Show livening up Denton’s booth with her designs.

Mariscal says she considers herself an entrepreneur because she builds concepts that speak to captive audiences. She's another in a long line of TWU’s ‘makers'.
