Student Association for Music Therapy
A student chapter of the American Music Therapy Association Students
The Student Association for Music Therapy (SAMT) provides educational and social opportunities for you to develop music therapy skills and friendships outside of the traditional classroom setting. If you would like to join SAMT, please attend one of our meetings or contact an officer for more information. Students at TWU can join SAMT and are not required to be music majors. We meet every other Monday, from 4:00-4:30pm in room 203 of the Music Building at TWU. We hold many events each year that are open to the community, including a family-friendly drum circle in the downtown Denton square.
The American Music Therapy Association Students (AMTAS) Membership is open to students who are declared music therapy majors enrolled in AMTAS-approved schools or other interested students. Student membership will provide the privilege of participation in the activities of the association on the national and regional levels, and the right to receive the Journal of Music Therapy, Music Therapy Perspectives, imagine, AMTAS.Pro, and other selected national and regional publications of the association.
