Heidi Klein, soprano, enjoys a performance career that encompasses diverse genres, from early music to avant-garde, as well as traditional repertoire. Ms. Klein, who holds a Master of Music degree in vocal performance from Indiana University, has been particularly dedicated to the interpretation of contemporary music and has premiered numerous compositions, many of which have been written expressly for her. The technical demands inherent to the performance of contemporary music have proven invaluable in Klein’s frequent interpretation of early music.

Ms. Klein has lectured and performed at music festivals nationally and abroad, most recently at the Victoria Bach Festival. She sings regularly in the Dallas/Ft. Worth Metroplex as a soloist, and with such ensembles as the Orpheus Chamber Singers, Orchestra of New Spain, Dallas Bach Society, Denton Bach Society, and the Dallas Arts District Chorale, serving as Soprano Artist in Residence in the latter. She has also performed and recorded with Dallas’ new music ensemble, Voices of Change. Ms. Klein, who is pleased to be joining the voice faculty of TWU, maintains an active private voice studio, and has served as adjunct instructor of voice at the University of North Texas and at Texas Wesleyan University. She has recorded with numerous area ensembles, and is featured on the following compact disc recordings: CEMIsonics: The Threshold of Sound; Music of SEAMUS, Volume 7; CDCM Computer Music Series Volume 39, Music from the University of North Texas CEMI; and with Voices of Change, The Chamber Music of David Dzubay.
