Mrs. Freeman was born and raised in Searcy, Arkansas where she developed a lifelong love of choral and piano music.  She earned her degree in Music Education from Ouachita Baptist University where she was awarded the prestigious Centennial Scholarship and became a NATS semi-finalist.

In 1990, Mrs. Freeman began her music teaching career opening Westside Elementary School in her hometown.  In Texas, she enjoyed 25 years of middle school and high school choral teaching serving in Denison, Birdville, Denton and Lewisville ISDs.  Her choirs consistently earned Superior ratings in UIL competitions and many of her students have been selected to Texas All-State Choir over the years. Mrs. Freeman is honored to have worked with wonderful students and directors across Texas serving as choral teacher, AP music theory instructor, IB music teacher, clinician, accompanist and UIL judge. She is a member of TCDA, TMEA, ACDA and TMTA.

Mrs. Freeman now resides in Denton where she enjoys time with her husband, children and grandchildren.  She is thrilled to be director of the University Chorus and to work with the outstanding students and faculty of Texas Woman’s University.
