Adjunct Instructor of Music

Academic Areas: Euphonium and Tuba




As an educator, Dr. Rom is currently the tuba and euphonium instructor at Texas Woman’s University in Denton, the co-director of the Greater North Texas Youth Symphony, and maintains a large private lesson studio in the north Dallas area. He also serves on the faculty at the International Music Camp teaching the University Prep course in Music Theory, Music History, and Ear Training. As a performer, Dr. Rom plays with the Lone Star Wind Orchestra and its resident brass quintet. He has also toured and recorded with the international performing group The King’s Brass. 

Dr. Rom received his Bachelors of Music and did his Master’s work in tuba performance from the University of Colorado at Boulder. In May of 2015, he also received his Doctorate of Music Arts degree in Brass Performance from the University of Texas at Austin. 

When Dr. Rom is not performing or teaching, he likes to spend time with his lovely wife, Rhonda, and daughters, Elise and Sydney. He also enjoys reading, sketching, solving blacksmith’s puzzles, and adding to his collection of playing cards.
