CHILD ABDUCTION TO A FOREIGN COUNTRY

If the other parent of your child is a foreign national, you may want to enroll your child or children in the Department of State’s CHILDREN’S PASSPORT ISSUANCE ALERT PROGRAM. You will be alerted if someone tries to apply for a passport for your child in order to verify that you have consented to issuance of the passport. This may save you the nightmare of tracking down your abducted child taken to another country.

You can apply for the program at the Travel.state.gov website for the Children’s Passport Issuance Alert Program to complete the DS-3077 form and provide the required documentation.
