TWU alum showed focus, grace during pandemic’s peak at hospital

It is difficult to imagine a task more daunting than being the chief nursing officer at Houston’s Ben Taub Hospital. The 444-bed teaching hospital provides indigent care, includes an elite Level 1 trauma center and lies in the heart of Houston’s Texas Medical Center, the largest in the world. 

Founder’s Day Forum goes online for 2020

The Texas Woman’s University College of Nursing, in collaboration with Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Society’s Beta Beta Houston chapter, Eta Delta, Psi-Iota, and Phi Chi chapters, will host the annual Founder’s Day Forum online from 8 a.m.–12:45 p.m. October 2, 2020.

 

Teaching and testing PT virtually becomes a family affair

As part of their education, Texas Woman’s physical therapy students need to learn and be tested on their skills before they can work hands-on with patients in clinics. The coronavirus pandemic cut that experience short for students this semester, but they still were able to stay on track thanks to the open-mindedness of Houston professor Carolyn Da Silva, P.T., D.Sc., and her husband’s willingness to help.
