Honors Scholar Program
Be part of a community that is challenging and supportive. As an Honors Scholar, you won’t get more coursework, just more interesting coursework. You also will get the chance to participate in domestic and international trips that are open only to Honors students, as well as cultural and community service opportunities in the Dallas-Fort Worth-Denton area.
This program is for first-time-in-college students, transfer students, and a select number of current TWU students.
All New Freshman and Transfer students receive an annual scholarship of $6500 or more.
Current TWU students are awarded an additional $1500 Honors Achievement Scholarship.
To be considered for this program, you must fulfill one of these requirements:
- A composite score of 28 or higher on the ACT or 1300 on the SAT (M+V)
- Top 5% of your high school class
- Completion of honors program at a two-year college or a minimum 3.5 GPA after completing 15 credit hours at TWU
The Honors Scholar program has been nothing short of a blessing to me throughout my time at TWU. This program not only provided me with many opportunities, but it also provided me with a college family from whom I have received tremendous support and encouragement.
Living Learning Community
First-year students can apply to join the new Honors Emerging Scholar LLC, a living-learning community that provides academic support and social programs. You will live on an honors floor, getting to know your fellow students and forming lifelong friendships. Together, you will have group study sessions and work on long-term research projects.
As an honors student you will be matched with a professor in your field of study who will work with you on your capstone project.
