Pioneer Pride Prep Classes
Classes will be taught by current Pioneer Pride Dancers and Pioneer Pride Director, Allison Fields. Dancers will learn proper warm up and stretch technique, across the floor combos, and a short jazz or hip hop combo. Different routines will be taught at each class. It is not a requirement for candidates to attend the prep workshop, but it is highly recommended.
Visitors may park in the visitor lot off Administration Drive, located in the center of campus, across from the Student Union. Please stop at the information booth in the front of the parking lot in order to get a visitor permit on the Denton Campus.
February 23 and March 2
$25 per class, non-refundable (credit card or cash preferred, make checks payable to TWU Fitness & Recreation. Checks must include drivers license # and date of birth.)
Applications will be available online in December.
(Pre-registration is not necessary. If you are interested in attending the class but are unable to pre-register, please arrive 30 minutes early with class fee and medical waiver. Dancers will not be allowed to attend the classes without a medical waiver on file.)
Pioneer Pride Director
Allison Fields, Director of the Pioneer Pride Dance Team, began her dance career at the age of four. She trained in tap, ballet, and jazz, and was a two year lieutenant on her high school’s drill team, the Poteet Belles. In 2010 Allison graduated summa cum laude from Texas Woman’s University where she earned her B. A. in Dance. Allison has spent the last five years back in her hometown of Mesquite directing the Poteet Belles. She is excited about the opportunity to bring a new tradition to TWU. Outside of dance Allison enjoys spending time with her amazing husband and their wonderful son.
