Melissa Stockholm is currently an associate clinical professor and the clinic practicum director in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders. She has been teaching undergraduate and graduate courses at the university level since 2007. Mrs. Stockholm’s clinical expertise is primarily in the areas of preschool language literacy and childhood apraxia of speech.

Prior to coming to TWU, her clinical focus was in school base services. Mrs. Stockholm’s current line of research is on public school clinicians’ perspective on inclusion services. She has also co-authored with Dr. Laura Green a published journal article in Contemporary Issues in Communication Sciences titled “Direct Vocabulary Instruction with two 5th grade English Learners with Language Learning Disabilities.”
