Statement of Purpose

BRIDGES is a campus-wide student organization developed from the Women's Studies Program. 

BRIDGES, inspired by the books This Bridge Called my Back and this bridge we call home, is an organization that promotes crossing boundaries and categories that separate us through community service, activism, and scholarship.

Upcoming Events

BRIDGES, the student organization associated with the Women's Studies Department at TWU is having their first meeting of the semester.  It will be held Saturday, November 14th at 12:00 PM in the Human Development Building lounge. Please feel free to bring snacks to share, and ideas of BRIDGES events. NWSA 30th Annual Conference

Qualifications necessary for membership

 In order to be a member of BRIDGES students must meet the following criteria:

•  Express a sincere interest in respectfully connecting with people across various social categories

•  Commit to participating in organization events, including developing, implementing, and evaluating the event

•  Be committed to addressing social inequalities through social change and activism

•  Be affiliated with TWU as a student, faculty or staff member

•  Be willing to participate in raising funds to further the cause of equality for all people

•  Pay a yearly membership fee of $20.00 ($10.00 per semester)
