Donate to Women's Studies 

Here is a sampling of how some graduates of our M.A. and Graduate Certificate programs are employed:

Meena Anbunathan completed her M.A. in Women's Studies in 2005. Meena then returned to India to pursue work in the field of HIV/AIDS activism.

Nadine Barrett completed her Graduate Certificate in Women's Studies in 2004 and later completed her Ph.D. in Sociology from TWU.  She is the Director of Community Programs for Susan G. Komen for the Cure, NC Triangle Affiliate.

Krista Benson completed her M.A. in Women's Studies in 2007. Krista works with students with Asperger's Disorder in a local school district.

Jennifer Brockman completed her M.A. in Women's Studies in 2003 and is pursuing her Ph.D. in Rhetoric at TWU.  Jennifer is currently a Writing Instructor and Lecturer at Lamar University in the Department of English and Modern Languages.

Sharon Butler, a graduate of the M.A. program in 2006, works for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services as a Children and Families Program Specialist.

Tara Conley completed her M.A. in Women's Studies in 2008.  Tara is a blogger for YouthNoise.com and contributes to The Huffington Post. 

Dawna Cornellisen, a graduate of the M.A. program in 2008, works as a Community Advocate at Planned Parenthood of North Texas.

Angela Johnson-Fisher completed her M.A. in Women's Studies in 2007. Angela is the Executive Director of the Deaf Action Center in Dallas, Texas.

Kami FletcherKami Fletcher completed her M.A. in Women's Studies in 2006. Kami is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in African-American History at Morgan State University in Baltimore.


 

 

 

After completing her M.A. in Women's Studies, Victoria Genetin completed a master's degree in Social Work from Akron University and is now pursuing a Ph.D. in Women's Studies at the Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio.

Jane Grassley completed the Graduate Certificate in Women's Studies in 2005. She is currently an Assistant Professor in the College of Nursing at Texas Woman's University - Denton campus.

Lea Ivy completed her M.A. in Women's Studies in 2005. She is currently working as a Registered Nurse in the field of women's health.

Kimberly JohnsonKimberly Johnson completed her M.A. in Women's Studies in 2007. Kimberly works as a Library Assistant in the Woman's Collection at TWU's Blagg-Huey Library, while taking courses in religious studies at the University of Dallas.



 



Kari Kesler
completed her M.A. in Women's Studies in 2001. Kari is currently employed as a Sexuality Health Educator for Public Health -- Seattle & King County.

Laura KnudsonLaura Knudson completed her M.A. in Women's Studies in 2007. Laura is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in English at Texas Christian University.


 





Amanda Lemon,
who completed her M.A. in Women's Studies in 2007, is employed as a sixth-grade world cultures teacher in a local Texas public school.

Susan Lynch

Susan Lynch completed her M.A. in Women's Studies in 2004. Susan is a Childbirth Educator in Longmont, Colorado.


 





Jill Malolepszy
completed her M.A. in Women's Studies in 2005 and is now a Counselor for the Office for Disability Services at the Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio.

Carrie McMaster completed her M.A. in Women's Studies in 2004 and is pursuing a master's degree at TWU in Family Therapy.  Carrie is a Graduate Teaching Assistant in the Women's Studies Program at Texas Woman's University - Denton campus, where she teaches WS 2013 Women: Images and Perspectives.

Harry McMaster completed his M.A. in Women's Studies in 2007 and is pursuing his Ph.D. in Rhetoric  at TWU. Harry is a Graduate Teaching Assistant in the Department of English, Speech, and Foreign Languages.

Nery Morales completed her M.A. in Women's Studies in 2007.  Nery is attending law school at the University of Maryland, beginning Fall 2009.

Janice Moran 
Janice Moran
completed her M.A. in Women's Studies in 2006. Janice is a Vocational Rehabilitation   Teacher with the Texas Division for Blind Services where she teaches Confidence Building, Independent   Living, Braille, Job Readiness and Retention skills both in the office and at home. Janice has just gotten her guide dog, Norwood.

 

 

Following the completion of her M.A. in 2007, Mary Jane Philpy worked for Planned Parenthood of North Texas as the Professional Training Institute Coordinator.  She is currently pursuing an Associate Graduate Certificate in Sex Education at the Institute for Advanced Study of Human Sexuality.

Erin Rider completed her M.A. in Women's Studies in 2006 and is currently in the Ph.D. program in Sociology at TWU.  Erin is also a Visiting Professor of Gender Studies at Eastern Oregon University.

Stephanie Rodriguez completed her M.A. in Women's Studies in 2000. After directing the McNair Program at Texas Woman's University, Stephanie accepted a position as a supervisor at insurance company in Dallas, Texas. 

Sally Sayles-Hannon completed her M.A. in Women's Studies in 2008 and is pursuing a Ph.D. in  Education at Syracuse University.

Jo-Ann Stankus (Ph.D., University of North Texas), who completed her M.A. in Women's Studies in 2006, teaches online and face-to-face sections of WS 2013, Women:  Images and Prospectives.

Patricia StukesPatricia Stukes completed her M.A. in Women's Studies in 2002. Patricia is a Graduate Teaching Assistant in the Women'sStudies Program at Texas Woman's University - Denton campus, where she teaches WS 2013 Women: Images and Perspectives.


 





Carol TusabeA recipient of the M.A., in Women's Studies in 2005, Carol Tushabe completed her Ph.D. in Philosophy, Interpretation, and Culture at Binghamton University and now is an Assistant Professor in  Women's Studies at the University of California, Riverside.









Dr. Doreen Watson completed her M.A. in Women's Studies in 2005 as well as her Ph.D. in Sociology. She is currently an Assistant Professor of Sociology at Regis University in Colorado.
