Write Site Mission Statement
The Write Site assists individual TWU students who need to improve
their writing skills.
Write Site
Objectives
Tutoring is offered in support of classes and not as a replacement for
classroom instruction. Services are designed to support learning
objectives of the core curriculum, such as guiding students through the
writing process (invention, organization, drafting, revision, and
editing); assisting students in writing for various audiences and
purposes; assisting students in employing critical thinking for
exposition and persuasive writing; and assisting students in writing in
a various modes of expression. In conjunction with these services,
additional assistance may be offered on topics, such as improving
grammar and usage skills, understanding the proper uses of documentation
styles, understanding the meaning and dangers of plagiarism, and helping
non-native speakers with writing in English.

The Write Site provides

Individualized or group face-to-face writing instruction,
- Online
writing instruction through the Online Writing Lab (OWL),

Workshops or seminars
related to thesis development, documentation, plagiarism, and other
topics,

Resource
materials and software programs in support of writing instruction.
Please note:
The Write Site does not provide a proofreading or editing service.
Faculty whose students work in the Write Site may be assured that the
work students submit is their work, not that of the Write Site staff.
Students must
present a valid TWU Student Photo ID at time of visit in order to
receive assistance from the Write Site.
