TWU Researchers Search for
Participants to 20-year Follow-up of Bone Density Evaluation
Researchers at the Texas Woman's
University's Institute for Women's health are looking for people who
participated in bone density tests around 1980 under the direction of the TWU
Department of Nutrition and Food Sciences.
The researchers want to talk with the participants about returning to Denton for
a follow-up test that will assess their current risk of developing osteoporosis.
The participants in the first study were asked about diet, reproductive history
and any bone fractures. The subjects also had the bone density of their hands
and forearms measured.
If these former study participants are available to visit TWU again and to take
part in a follow-up study, we would be pleased to have them contact us. The
participants would be approximately 65 years of age and live throughout Texas.
Anyone who participated in the project or knows someone who did is asked to call
the TWU Institute for Women's Health at 940- 898-2792.
