TWU Visual Arts Students in 'New Crop: 500X College Expo'
Amanda Amaral (BFA Photography), Sheryl David (BFA Sculpture), Ashley Kauschinger (MFA Photography), Glen Rust (MA Sculpture), Kristina Smith (MFA Photography) and Lisa Tremaine (BFA Painting) have been accepted into the annual 500X College Expo at 500X Gallery in Dallas, Texas. The exhibition was curated by Barry Whistler (Barry Whistler Gallery) and Allison Smith (professional photographer). East | West Galleries new exhibition
'Joseph Melançon' and 'TWU Alumni Painting Exhibition' Joseph Melançon graduated from TWU in 2000 with a MFA degree in painting. He credits his studies at TWU with allowing him opportunity to pursue some new avenues of painting and ideas in his work. In 2011 Joseph's family created an endowed scholarship in his name to allow other students to study art at TWU. This exhibition showcases work from his time at TWU, to the present. TWU is also proud to present alumni from our MFA painting program in this exhibition. The show features TWU alumni: Penny Bisbee, Mark Collop, Tim Harding, Sunny Jacquet, Tammy Wascovich, and Leigh Ann Williams. The show is curated by Professor Gary Washmon, who taught and advised these students during their time at TWU.The show will be October 2 to October 26, with an opening reception on Tuesday, October 2nd, 5-7pm. Painting Exhibition in Atlanta, Georgia
Michele Mikesell studied painting and graphic design at Texas Woman's University in Denton, TX for her BFA and then completed her MFA at the University of Oklahoma in Norman in 2004. Mikesells work has been continually exhibited throughout the United States in both solo and group shows. Her exhibition at Alan Avery Art Company will be September 21 to October 27, 2012.
