
Graphic Design Program
Program Description
The Graphic Design major (formerly Advertising Design) prepares students for a variety of roles in advertising and graphic design, and encourages involvement in a community of design where fellow students foster critique, collaboration, and community contribution. Through a rigorous investigation of concepts, typography, critical thinking and process, students develop a wide range of communication design skills.

Graphic Design Facilities
The Graphic Design department manages the Visual Arts lab facilities. The VA Lab offers students the latest Adobe Creative Suite software, and houses 20 iMacs with 2G RAM and hard drive space. Two of the iMacs form a video editing area with Final Cut Studio Pro, Adobe After Effects, and a 3 Terabyte external hard drive for storage. Along with video editing capabilities, a 35mm DSLR and video cameras are available for use. Connected to the VA Lab is the print room that contains Epson 2200, Epson Pro3800 and Epson 7600 printers as well as an Epson 9000 large format printer. Various papers and ink are also provided to students through course fees.
