Fossil Creative Director, Ben Franklin, led graphic design portfolio students on a fascinating tour of the award-winning, in-house design department of FOSSIL. Designers from each department, including fashion, spoke about the design process and the part they play in creating the brand. Students witnessed the importance of design skills such as sketching, prototyping in Illustrator, mood boards, group critique and working in partnership with other brands. Following a personal Q&A session with designers at the end of the tour - complete with job interview advice and "goodie" bags - students walked away with a new-found inspiration and a deeper knowledge of the design process in action.
