Montgomery GI Bill – Chapter 30
Generally for individuals who entered active duty after June 30, 1985 and served continuously for three years; or by serving two years on active duty followed by four years of Selected Reserve.
General Eligibility:
Veterans must have contributed $1200 during their first year of military service.

Montgomery GI Bill - Survivors and Dependents Assistance Chapter 35
Chapter 35 benefits and educational assistance are available to spouses and children of veterans who died or are permanently and totally disabled as the result of a service-related disability.
 
Montgomery GI Bill - Disabled Veterans Assistance Chapter 31
Chapter 31 benefits are available to veterans who qualify for vocational rehabilitation assistance services. Eligibility is determined by a VA case manger on an individual basis. For more information visit their website at: http://www.vba.va.gov/bln/vre/vrs.htm

Once approved, the Chapter 31 benefits provide a monthly stipend and cover the cost of tuition, most fees, books and supplies.

The Montgomery GI Bill – Selected Reserve Chapter 1606
Generally for current members of the reserve elements of the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps and the Air National Guard who signed up after June 30, 1985.
General Eligibility:
A reservist must have a six-year obligation to serve in the selected reserve and must be participating in active drilling exercises to receive benefits.
 
The Montgomery GI Bill – Reserve Educational Assistance Program Chapter 1607
Generally for members of the selected reserves, Individual Ready Reserve (IRR), and National Guard called to active service in response to war or national emergency, as declared by the President of the United States or Congress.
General Eligibility:
Must serve on active duty on or after September 11, 2001 and serve at least 90 consecutive days

Montgomery GI Bill – Post 9/11 Chapter 33
Generally for veterans who served after September 10, 2001. For more info visit TWU's Post-9/11 Benefits page. General Eligibility: Served at least 90 days of active duty or 30 days of active duty with medical discharge.
