College Credit by Exam and Reimbursement Program

Student Veterans entering Texas Woman’s University may be able to gain university credit for examinations. Eligible veterans can receive full reimbursement for some exams, licenses, and certifications.

VA Reimbursement Checklist for Licensing, Certifications, and National Test

Search the VA for approved test at: http://www.gibill.va.gov/GI_Bill_Info/search_programs.htm

 

Review VA policy on test reimbursement at: http://www.gibill.va.gov/pamphlets/testing.htm

 

Register and take the necessary exam, license, or certification.

File your Reimbursement claim by submitting the following items to the VA for reimbursement

1a) Submit the VA Form 22-0803- Application for reimbursement for Licensing or Certification fees

1b) OR VA Form 22-0810- Application for reimbursement for National Test Fees

2) Test results

3) Test fees & Receipt

 

TWU policy:

Students entering Texas Woman’s University may be able to gain University credit for examinations. There are several types of examinations that may earn college credit with a minimum score requirement. They include:

 

Examples of approved examinations:

Advanced Placement Program (AP) Departmental examination and/or reviews *

International Baccalaureate Program (IB) Professional society tests in specific disciplines *

College-Level Examination Program (CLEP)

 

Examples of approved license, certifications, and national test include:

License Certifications: National Tests:

Attorney’s license C++ Certification SAT ACT

Cosmetology license Certified Safety Professional GRE LAST

Registration fees

Fees for specialized tests

Administrative fees

 

Examples of fees not covered by the VA:

Fees to take pre-tests (such as Kaplan tests)

Fees to receive scores quickly

Fees for optional items that are not required to take an approved test

 

*Academic Departments will determine if credit is to be awarded for these exams. A student may not receive credit by examination for a TWU course in which she or he has enrolled. No more than 30 hours can be received as credit by examination. Official score reports should be sent to the Office of Student Records Processing.
