Youngblood To Perform Faculty Recital At TWU

9/5/02

DENTON — Dr. Pamela Youngblood, associate professor of music at Texas Woman's University, will perform a faculty flute recital at 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 24 in the Margo Jones Performance Hall, located at Oakland and Sawyer streets on TWU's Denton campus. Admission is free.

Youngblood will be assisted by pianist Rose Marie Chisholm. The performance will feature unusual music pieces from international 20th century flute composers including Lili Boulanger, Walter Gieseking, Eldin Burton, Georges Hüe and Radamés Gnattalli.

Youngblood founded and directs the TWU and Brookhaven (Dallas) flute choirs, and is a founding member of Zephyr Winds, a musical ensemble that focuses upon rarely heard music for a variety of instrumental combinations. She also is principal flutist for the Wichita Falls Symphony Orchestra.
