Templeton/ASA Grant Lecture Set

DENTON Dr. Dawn Adrian Adams will be the guest lecturer
for the Templeton/ASA Grant Lecture Series, scheduled for Nov. 12
in room 301 of the Administration Conference Tower at Texas
Woman's University. Her first lecture, titled "A New
Typology for the Religion-Science Dialogue" will take place
at 1 p.m., and a 7:30 p.m. lecture is titled "A Narrative
Analysis of the Relationship Between Evolutionary Science and
Religion." Admission is free.
Adams, a member of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma, is
president and founder of Tapestry: The Institute for Philosophy,
Religion and the Life Sciences Inc. She was awarded a $120,000
grant from the National Science Foundation for a project on
native cultures science, which will result in a book and be the
basis for a film and museum exhibit on the subject. The project
also has partial support from the Smithsonian National Museum of
the American Indian and the National Institutes of Health.
Tapestry is a nonprofit organization devoted to research and
education.
