Taylor Named President of National Small Business Directors' Association

DENTON — Texas Woman's University lecturer Sherrie Taylor has been named president of the National Small Business Directors' Association (SBIDA) for 2002. She served as president-elect of the organization in 2001.

Ms. Taylor has been active in SBIDA for nearly 10 years and has served as a national officer for the last five years. In 2001, she was one of the first 14 people in the United States to earn the designation of Certified Small Business Counselor.

The Small Business Institute Directors' Association serves as the coordinating body for the Small Business Institute program. SBI provides student consultants, monitored by experienced faculty, to small and emerging businesses. The TWU chapter handles about 10 cases per year and partners with the Students in Free Enterprise organization at the university.

Ms. Taylor has served as director of the Small Business Institute at TWU and has been a lecturer in the School of Management since 1993.
