TWU Tailgate Party, Spirit Competition To Kick-Off Basketball Season

DENTON — A howling good time will be had at the Texas Woman’s University “Tailgate Live with WILD 100” and “Scream For Your Team” spirit competition, Nov. 21 to kick-off the Pioneer’s first home basketball game of the season.

The tailgate party, which is open to the public, will be from 5-7 p.m. at the TWU amphitheater, located at the northwest corner of Bell Avenue and Administration Drive, and will include free hotdogs, free Pioneer T-shirts and a remote broadcast by WILD 100 (100.3 FM). Deejays from WILD 100 also will judge the “Scream for Your Team” spirit competition, which is open to TWU students. Prizes totaling $350 will be awarded to competition winners, who will perform their spirit routines during halftime of the Pioneers’ game against Harding University. The game begins at 7 p.m. and admission is $4 for adults, $3 for children ages 7-17, free for children under 6 as well as TWU students, faculty and staff with a current ID. Tickets are available at the gate.
