Protas Elected To ACSM Board of Trustees

HOUSTON — Dr. Elizabeth Protas, associate dean and professor of physical therapy at the Texas Woman's University School of Physical Therapy in Houston, has been elected to the American College of Sports Medicine Board of Trustees.

Dr. Protas' two-year term on the board began June 2 and she will represent the 12 ACSM regional chapters. Dr. Protas served as executive director of the Texas chapter of ACSM for three years and has been an ACSM member for 16 years. She has taught at TWU for 22 years.

ACSM was founded in 1954 and its mission is to promote and integrate scientific research, education and practical applications of sports medicine and exercise science to maintain and enhance physical performance, fitness, health and quality of life.
