TWU Schedules Party For Pool’s Reopening

DENTON — Texas Woman’s University will celebrate reopening its outdoor pool with a splash on June 29. Admission that day will be free, and a pool party with refreshments and prizes will be held from 5-6:30 p.m. In the event of rain, the party will be rescheduled.

Built in the early 1940s, the outdoor pool has been a gathering place for the Denton community during the hot summer months. Hundreds of children also have taken swimming lessons at the outdoor pool each year. The pool had been closed for repairs since the summer of 2003.

Located near the northeast corner of Bell Avenue and Administration Drive, the pool is open from noon to 7 p.m. daily. Admission is $1.50 per person.
