Nursing Lectureship March 7 at TWU

HOUSTON "The Women's Health Initiative Hormone
Clinical Trial: Implications for Women's Health" will be the
topic of the Parry Distinguished Lectureship Series, presented by
the Texas Woman's University College of Nursing-Houston Center
and Sigma Theta Tau International, Beta Beta Houston.
The lecture will be March 7 from 9 a.m. to noon at 1130 John
Freeman Blvd., located in the Texas Medical Center, room MGJ 724.
Admission is free.
Jennifer Hays, Ph.D., and Ronald Young, M.D., Baylor College
of Medicine, will discuss the findings and clinical implications
of the Women's Health Initiative hormone clinical trial of
estrogen plus progestin, which was ended in July 2002 due to
evidence of an increased overall harm to users. The outcomes of
the study and clinical implications will be presented.
On-site registration begins at 8:30 a.m. followed by the
presentation, a mid-morning reception and networking session and
a questions and dialogue session. Research poster presentations
will take place from 8:30 a.m. to noon.
Three Continuing Nursing Education (CNE) Type 1 contact hours
have been requested from the Texas Nurses Association.
Parking fees will be the responsibility of participants. For
