Mousso Dance Concert Scheduled For Feb. 4

DENTON — Guest musicians from Africa, Austin and Dallas will join Texas Woman’s University dance students in a colorful display of West African movement and musical rhythms in “Mousso: An African Dance Concert” Friday, February 4.

The concert will begin at 8 p.m. in the Margo Jones Performance Hall, located at Oakland and Sawyer streets on TWU’s Denton campus. Tickets are $8 adults, $6 for students and seniors, and $4 for TWU students. For more information, call (940) 898-2086.

Mousso means “woman,” and was used as the title to honor the strength, vitality and grace of women. Julie Dosso, a master of fine arts student at TWU, will direct the concert, which features highly energetic dances, including Zaouli, a traditional masked dance.
