Mousso Dance Concert

Guest musicians from Africa, Austin and Dallas will join Texas
Woman’s University dance students in a colorful display
of West African movement and musical rhythms in “Mousso:
An African Dance Concert” Friday, February 4.
The concert will
begin at 8 p.m. in the Margo Jones Performance Hall, located
at Oakland and Sawyer streets on TWU’s Denton campus.
Tickets are $8 adults, $6 for students and seniors, and $4
for TWU students. For more information, call (940) 898-2086.
Mousso means “woman,”
and was used as the title to honor the strength, vitality
and grace of women. Julie Dosso, a master of fine arts student
at TWU, will direct the concert, which features highly energetic
dances, including Zaouli, a traditional masked dance.
