TWU Nursing Professor
Selected For AACN Leadership Program
1/21/04
DALLAS —
Dr. Caryl Mobley, professor and associate dean of nursing
at Texas Woman’s University’s Institute of Health
Sciences at Dallas, will travel to Washington, D.C., March
10-12 for the American Association of Colleges of Nursing
Leadership for Academic Nursing Program.
The yearlong program,
which includes a second conference in October, is designed
to develop and enhance leadership skills in new and emerging
administrators in baccalaureate and graduate nursing programs.
This is the final year for the program, which was funded for
a three-year cycle by the Helene Fuld Health Trust.
“I see this
as a fantastic opportunity to broaden my scope of knowledge,”
Mobley said. “I look forward to not only increasing
my knowledge but also to networking with other nursing education
administrators to share ideas and ways to handle situations
we all face.”
Mobley applied
for the program after learning of it from Dr. Marcia Hern,
dean of the TWU College of Nursing, who previously attended
the program.
